Artist Colette Fu is a talented paper engineer and photographer who combines her passions to create extraordinary pop-up books and art pieces. Currently, she is in residency at BIMA, located in Bainbridge Island, where she is working on a massive pop-up book of a Wishing Tree. This stunning creation will be showcased in the MESA Gallery. Colette Fu holds an MFA in Fine Art Photography from the renowned Rochester Institute of Technology. Her fascination with constructing pop-up books began after completing her degree. Since then, she has designed pop-ups for acclaimed stop-motion animation commercials and has worked with prestigious clients such as Vogue China, Canon Asia, and Moët Hennessy-Louis Vuitton. Her work has been recognized and included in esteemed collections like the Library of Congress, the West Collection, and the Cynthia Lovelace Sears Collection. Currently based in Philadelphia, Colette Fu has established a prolific career as an artist. She not only creates her own art but also teaches pop-up courses and conducts community workshops at various art centers, universities, and institutions worldwide.
