Riders for Striders Charity Adventure Motorcycle Ride is in it's 12th year of providing Strider Bikes to kids around the Central Indiana area. To date we've donated well over 250 Striders!! This year we will continue to sponsor elementary PE classes with the “All Kids Bike“ program. "All Kids Bike" makes learning to ride a bike part of kindergarten PE class. So far we have sponsored two elementary schools. The ride is around 200 miles on back forest roads pavement, gravel roads, and dirt. Lunch is included with your ticket. This is the 23rd year for the Ride of Silence. This year, we will be reading the names of the cyclists who were killed on Ohio roads in 2024 along with names submitted by registered riders who were killed in any year. With this annual ride—a short, slow and silent processional —hundreds of Central Ohio cyclists join an international movement to honor cyclists killed or injured while riding on public roadways and raise awareness that cyclists have a legal right to the road. The ride is a short, slow and silent funeral-style processional that attracts hundreds of cyclists from all corners of our community. The route for 2025 will be 10-12 miles in length. All riders will stay together, two abreast and completely silent during the ride. We are required to get a parade permit from the City of Columbus and to have police escorts which allow us to stay together through traffic lights. Helmets are required! Johnny Velo Bikes will have a mechanic on site should you need any last minute assistance with your bike. But, please make sure to look it over a few days prior to the ride to ensure it's in good working order. Riders will begin gathering at 5:30 pm. There will be a short program including a reading of the names at 6:30 pm. The ride will roll at 7:00 p.m. It's a 10-12 mile route that should take a little over an hour to complete.
