Brushstrokes of Change: The Art of Emotional Expression – In-Gallery Talk Join me, Lilly – Artist and Art Psychotherapist – for an intimate in-gallery talk as part of Brushstrokes of Change: The Art of Emotional Expression. In this mid-exhibition reflection, I’ll speak about how art-making continues to shape both my personal journey and my clinical practice, particularly in the delicate and deeply human space of bereavement. We’ll explore how creativity becomes a language when words fall short, and how images can hold grief, healing, and transformation. Whether you're an artist, a therapist, someone navigating loss, or simply curious about the intersection of art and emotion – this space is open to you. I look forward to sharing, connecting, and reflecting together in the heart of the exhibition.

Ever since my Improv journey as a student started in 2017, I was immediately hooked! It may have been the endorphins and serotonin you get by playing Improv games, because I can’t remember the last time I felt so seen, so present, and so alive! Whilst my 9-5pm job involved designing coaching and training courses for professional development, I’d wondered if Improv – an art form traditionally used for acting and comedy – could be applied to help people achieve personal development. After experimenting and running courses such as: Improv for Introverts, Improv for Dating and Relationships, Improv for the Workplace… Turns out you can! Improv is a practical tool that can be used for enhancing self-awareness, connecting with others, and aligning with your deepest desires. I am now the Founder and Director of Improv Life Lessons and on a mission to help individuals realise the transformative power of Improv! Stepping into the world of exhibitions—whether solo or group—can be both exciting and overwhelming. This hands-on, discussion-based workshop explores the often-unspoken rules of exhibiting artwork in professional and DIY contexts. What are the expectations of artists, curators, and galleries? How do you prepare your work for display? What are the practical steps that help an exhibition run smoothly—and how do you navigate challenges when things don’t go as planned? We'll look at how to present yourself and your work with confidence and professionalism, covering everything from communication with venues to installing your artwork with care. Participants will be encouraged to share past experiences—good, bad, or awkward—and learn from each other in a relaxed, supportive environment.
