Welcoming the Wise Woman: Hestia and Hecate. | Plymouth Proprietary Library
Jul 26, 2025 (UTC+1)
Plymouth
This workshop is appropriate for women approaching or in their wise years. We will introduce two magical and mystical Greek goddesses, Hestia and Hecate, who, although present in the earlier life of women may be more easily experienced in mid to later life.
Having had some experience of the joys and sorrow of life, the intuitive wisdom offered by these goddess archetypes is more readily recognised and received by those with a few years under their belts.
Goddess archetypes offer us useful and evocative ways to understand and illuminate the inner working of the feminine psyche. To know our inner aspects and patterning can bring greater self-awareness and understanding of how to work positively with these archetypal energies
We will offer meditations to connect with these rich archetypes and space to share our experiences.

Wembury
Join us on an extremely low tide to explore Wembury’s most amazing rockpools, rarely uncovered by the tide!
Suitable for children 7+ and all children must be accompanied by a paying adult.
This event will involve walking a good distance over very slippery seaweed covered rocks and in deeper rockpools.
Please don't bring nets – we’ll follow the Seashore Code and use our hands and tubs (we'll provide tubs), but don’t forget your wellies/beach shoes!
Please note, National Trust car parking charges apply at Wembury Beach car park. The car park can fill up very quickly on hot, sunny days so please leave plenty of time to park and aim to arrive at the Marine Centre 10mins before the event starts.
Cancellation Policy – refunds will be issued up to 1 day before the event starts, minus the Eventbrite booking fee. If the event is cancelled by us due to poor weather, you will receive a full refund.
Important Accessibility Information
The event takes place on Wembury beach and the surrounding rocky foreshore. There are steep unguarded edges along the coast. You should expect to be walking over slippery, seaweed-covered rocks, steep paths, sand, and other uneven ground. Please dress appropriately – be prepared for unpredictable weather and remember that rocks can be sharp so wearing thick-soled footwear with good grips is essential. We will be out for up to 2 hours; therefore, conditions can change and be different out on the shore than inland. There is accessible parking at the National Trust Wembury Beach car park, but no wheelchair access to the beach. There in an accessible toilet inside the Marine Centre, but the group will be a 20-minute walk away from these during the event. Dogs are not allowed on the beach between 1st May to 30th September though assistance dogs are allowed all year round.
We welcome attendees with an interest in finding out more about local marine life and are keen to learn or improve their identification and rockpooling skills. Instruction is provided verbally by a group leader in English within an outdoor setting where there may be background noise. Printed copies of some information can be made available with advance notice. The event takes place in a popular public place but is not usually crowded once we start rockpooling. Flash photography may be used by staff and participants but is not usually noticeable in daylight. Noise cancelling ear muffs can only be used if the attendee has someone with them who is able to listen and interpret the instructions for them.

One World, One Sky: Big Bird's Adventure | Blake Planetarium at Plymouth Community Intermediate School
Aug 18, 2025 (UTC-4)
Plymouth
Join us at the Blake Planetarium for our feature presentation
One World, One Sky: Big Bird's Adventure
, a fulldome planetarium show that follows Sesame Street's Big Bird and Elmo as they explore the night sky with Hu Hu Zhu, a Muppet from Zhima Jie, the Chinese co-production of Sesame Street. As an added bonus,
Cocomong: A Space Adventure
will also be shown.
About One World, One Sky: Big Bird's Adventure (runtime 27 minutes)
"One World, One Sky is a brilliant spectacle of light and color as the furry friends [Big Bird, Elmo, and Hu Hu Zhu] watch the stars twinkle over Sesame Street. Children attending the show can interact as they watch, drawing constellations and counting the time it takes the sun to set. The show aims to nurture a child's natural sense of wonder about the night sky while forging cross-cultural connections, and bridging kids across nations through a common bond in learning about the sky together."
About Cocomong: A Space Adventure (runtime 19 minutes)
"Described only in books, Cocomong dreams of what it would be like to really travel through space. And then all too quickly Halley appears out of nowhere! Halley needs the help of Cocomong and his friends to save his parents and get the star balls back. Will our rescuers be able to travel all the way safely? '
We’ll never know until we get there!'
says Cocomong and as they embark on a rescue mission, so begins their adventure through space."
