In today's world, personal protection has become a crucial aspect, particularly for women. This event, the New to Firearms November 2nd - 4th Class at South River Gun Club, aims to address this need. The event is organized by an experienced Chapter Leader from The Well Armed Women - South Atlanta Chapter, who herself was a victim of a home invasion. Understanding the feelings of violation and defenselessness that come with such incidents, she has dedicated almost 6 years to training and supporting numerous women. As an NRA Certified Basic Pistol Instructor for Firearms, LLC, she now offers private lessons and classes to all women, focusing on educating them about Guns, Gun Safety, Conceal and Carry Laws, and Proper Gun Handling. The New to Firearms Class is designed specifically for women who have a perceived fear of guns or want to learn how to shoot a gun. Even if you have never been to a gun range or lack knowledge about proper gun safety handling techniques, this class is perfect for you. For a fee of $150, participants will receive 4 hours of class instruction, range rental, shooting practice with various semiautomatic handguns, eye and ear protection, targets, and ammunition. However, please note that classes might be rescheduled if there is low participation. The class is divided into two parts. Part One, called the Handgun Basics, is a virtual session that takes place on November 2nd, 2023, from 6pm to 8pm EST. Attendance is mandatory for all participants to progress to Part Two, the Shooting Fundamentals session. Part Two will be held at the South River Gun Club on November 4th, 2023, from 9am to 11am. Participants are advised to wear comfortable clothes, closed-toe shoes, and sleeves. They must also bring their own protective eye and earwear, as well as their own firearm. However, if attendees don't have their own firearm, one will be provided for practice on the day of the event. It is important to note that there are no refunds for this class. If someone is unable to attend, they will receive a credit to attend an upcoming class. Additionally, participants must be at least 21 years old and bring a valid driver's license or photo ID.
