Camp Explore 2024 presents an exciting opportunity for students in Grades 6-8 during Fall 2024 to participate in a unique sculpture workshop with the talented artist Iyaba Ibo Mandingo at Westport Library. Over the course of three days, participants will engage in the creation of abstract sculptures using found objects and upcycled materials. Each student will craft their own sculpture, contributing to a collaborative final art piece. Under Iyaba's guidance, the group will collectively decide on the theme, direction, textures, and color palette of the sculptures, fostering a shared creative experience focused on observation and rhythm. Iyaba Ibo Mandingo, a multidisciplinary artist with a background in painting, poetry, and acting, brings his expertise as a Master Teaching Artist to inspire and guide participants through this innovative workshop.
