Our next 5k lunchtime running tour turns the focus on Edinburgh's elegant New Town. From the breathtaking views and landmarks atop Calton Hill, to the grandeur of the street names, layout and architecture, it's easy to see why Edinburgh earned the nickname, "Athens of the North". A far cry from the narrow cobbled streets and shadowy closes of the city's Old Town.
Today, the New Town is designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and functions as a bustling, elegant district for shops, businesses and residents alike. This taster tour is also the ideal way to escape the hustle of Edinburgh's Old Town in peak tourist season.

Edinburgh Castle is an absolute must-see when in the city. Our visit was fantastic, made even better by the hassle-free and easy booking process through Trip.com. Very interesting place to visit to learn about the history of the royal family and see some great docorations. Self_guided audio tour was nicely put together and free with the entrance. I love the backdrop of Arthur&#39;s seat and the ruin of the chapel.
