Artist Talk: Clean All the Stolpersteine | Silber Art Gallery
Apr 2, 2025 (UTC-5)ENDED
Valley
Exhibition Dates: February 13 to May 29, 2025. This exhibit, which is free, open to the public, and accessible to all, can be viewed Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Artist Talk: Wednesday, April 2, from 3 to 4 p.m. in the Hyman Forum. Email liz.faust@goucher.edu for more information. ABOUT THE EXHIBIT Clean All the Stolpersteine is a solo exhibition by interdisciplinary artist Leah Clare Michaels, on view from February 13 through May 29, 2025. The exhibition features framed artifacts from Michaels' ongoing performance-based practice, alongside video documentation of her public acts of remembrance across Europe. Michaels' project is rooted in her engagement with the Stolpersteine—brass memorial stones embedded in the streets of European cities, marking the last known residences of Holocaust victims. Created by German artist Gunter Demnig, the Stolpersteine project is the world’s largest decentralized memorial, with over 100,000 stones laid across Europe. In a ritual of quiet care, Michaels kneels to clean these stones, an act that transforms routine maintenance into a gesture of mourning, responsibility, and public memory. In the gallery, framed rags used in past performances stand as artifacts of these ephemeral actions, bearing the physical traces of time and place. Accompanying these are three video screens displaying documentation from performances in Warsaw, Greece, and Italy, allowing viewers to witness the artist’s journey as she follows Demnig’s expanding project. Through Clean All the Stolpersteine, Michaels raises urgent questions about remembrance, collective history, and the responsibility of public space in shaping memory. The exhibition aligns with her broader practice of exploring ritual, grief, and historical reckoning, situating personal ancestry within larger narratives of trauma and resilience. Leah Clare Michaels is an interdisciplinary artist whose work incorporates performance, video, and installation. Drawing from her Roman Catholic, Polish, German, and Italian heritage, her practice engages with the intersections of mourning, history, and acts of witness. Her ongoing engagement with the Stolpersteine project continues as Demnig actively installs new stones across Europe. Bond Window Gallery invites audiences to engage with the exhibition and reflect on the significance of small gestures in preserving memory. Visitors are encouraged to explore the video documentation and learn more about the artist’s practice through her website, https://www.leahcmichaels.com/. This album was written throughout 2022-23 and funded completely independently with money made from gigs and busking around Southeast Queensland. Kelsey Berrington: With heartbreaking lyrics and warm folk melodies, Kelsey Berrington is a singer/songwriter that delivers songs straight from the soul. People Mover 'Habit' Single Launch | Black Bear Lodge

Valley
Little Lunch Records presents... People Mover 'Habit' Single Launch
People Mover are back with a new single 'Habit' and they’re playing Black Bear Lodge on Thurs 17 April (Good Fri Eve) to celebrate.
After a string of singles which have been mainstays on community radio and fresh from playing their first UK shows, People Mover are back with their propulsive new single 'Habit'. Sharpened to a point, the sub 3 minute Habit careens and slides with wry lyrics about being drawn to the same person again and again. The feeling of excitement for things to change and the gut feeling that this might be as good as it gets. It never outstays its welcome, but in typical People Mover fashion, has a hell of time while it’s here.
Special guests to be announced.

Philadelphia/ Мюзикл «Ти [Романтика]» у кіно | Penn Cinema Huntingdon Valley
Apr 17, 2025 (UTC-5)ENDED
Valley
12+ Ty is Ukraine’s first historical original musical, offering a glimpse into the lives of real writers from the past century—real people, not just names in history books. The story unfolds within the walls of the *House of Slovo* in Kharkiv, where the Soviet regime executed hundreds of Ukraine’s creative elite in the early 20th century. Ty brushes off the dust of time from the names of Khvylovy, Kurbas, Sosiura, Semenko… For the first time, history is set to music—the betrayal of poet Pavlo Tychyna, Volodymyr Sosiura’s service in the Third Assault Brigade, the execution of every second Ukrainian writer in the *House of Slovo*, Mykola Khvylovy’s suicide… Names come alive on screen before your very eyes—an experience beyond words. DirectorOleksandr Khomenkoon Ty : * This is not just another production about the tragedy of the Executed Renaissance—because how much longer can we only mourn? This is not a performance with the simple message that 'loving Ukraine will make everything okay.' No. That is not enough. This is a window into the past—where you step in and dissolve into the *House of Slovo* in Kharkiv, into that era, into the dialogues of Sosiura and Khvylovy. That is what romance is—the ability to travel through time. * The film is in Ukrainian with English subtitles. Age:12+

302 Decoding Drops [3hrs]: MTB Skills | "Shake, Rattle n Roll", Kalamunda Mountain Bike Park
Apr 19, 2025 (UTC+8)ENDED
Valley
The what, why and how of: Roll-downs vs drop-offs.Body position tricks. The usual mistakes.Low-speed vs high-speed drops.Commitment / driving the bike.Variations pros and cons.We will open your eyes to a whole new world of tackling drops in a safe and reliable way. You'll be having more fun, amazing your mates…and probably yourself too. Drops are a high-consequence scary feature, if you follow most of the internet advice. With our approach you’ll have the best understanding of what's happening to your bike and body as you go over drops, we’ll get in lots of practice and test you in ways that are super effective while managing the risk of progression, and give you all the puzzle pieces to conquer the rough natural drops you see on trails and not just smooth man-made ramps. You must have completed our A Solid Base clinic and be happy with applying the techniques taught there. Just like our 301 Jump On Control clinic, this is considered a level above all of our 200 level clinics because riding drops well requires a reasonable level of bike coordination to add consistent timing of your movements. But as long as you've completed the 102 A Solid Base (a required prerequisite) and have practiced the content then you'll be ready for this. We will not be finding large drops to send it off, but we will have challenges for you that are guaranteed to progress you well above your current level. You will get the most out of this session if you are able to let off the brakes over rough sections of trail, can lift the front wheel into the air reliably and are comfortable riding through tabletop jumps regardless of getting airtime. We will work through each of these skills for any skill level. If you are parking at the Trail Hub, plus drop a gold coin in the box to go towards the facilities, or purchase an annual parking pass. Standard information: You MUST have attended the A Solid Base clinic before taking part in this clinic. 1xx courses do not have a prerequisite. All others can only be attended after completing '102 A Solid Base'.You MUST be present from the start of the clinic. If you miss our safety talk we are not able to have you join the group. This is for everyone's well-being, and is a requirement enforced on us that we can’t make exceptions for. We suggest arriving at least 15 minutes early to ensure you and your bike are prepared and ready to go on time.3xx clinics are considered more advanced than the 2xx clinics because they add the idea of “correct timing”, however that does not mean these clinics are only for “advanced” riders. You will need to provide your own bike. This course is targeted at adults, but we allow children to come along if they are accompanied by a ticket-holding parent and find this works well.Requires 3 attendees for the event to run, or the event will be rescheduled.
