Traditional water puppetry originating from the rice paddies of the Red River Delta in northern Vietnam remains one of the most popular tourist attractions in Ho Chi Minh City. If you want to truly immerse yourself in the local culture of Vietnam’s largest city, catch a show at the Golden Dragon Water Puppet Theatre! The theatre is located in Tao Dan Park and performs nightly. The shows are performed entirely in Vietnamese, but the puppetry and accompanying music appeal to foreign audiences as well. An orchestra, usually located to one side of the stage, uses drums, wooden bells, trumpets, bamboo flutes and cymbals to add sound effects and play traditional music, while dragons, fairies and other decorative figures dance on water platforms. Most shows feature humorous depictions of Vietnamese folk tales, legends and important seasonal events, such as the rice harvest.

It includes many interesting rituals and activities, such as the ceremony of lifting the statue of Ba Chua Xu, the ceremony of bathing her, the ceremony of praying to Lord Tai Ai Yu Hou, the ceremony of offering, etc. The Ba Chua Xu Temple (the local patron saint) is located at the foot of Sanshan Mountain in Chau Doc City, An Giang Province. It is said that this goddess is so sacred that anyone who burns incense to her will be able to fulfill all his/her wishes. Therefore, during the Ba Chua Xu (also known as Via Ba ceremony), many pilgrims from all over the world flock to the temple. It is held from the 23rd to the 27th day of the fourth month of the lunar calendar every year.

YorSpace is delighted to welcome you to a tour of York's first housing Co-operative. A low carbon community led co-housing development in Acomb that has been 10 years in the making... YorSpace is a community land trust and community led housing developer working with Lowfield Green Housing Co-op to deliver 20 homes (14 family houses and 6 apartments) alongside communal facilities at Lowfield Green. Phase 1 is onsite and due for completion Summer 2025 with Phase 2 following in 2026. Meet on the site at 12pm for the tour, followed by an optional lunch at Sojo Bistro (York Road, YO24 4LZ) at 1:30pm. Please bring adequate PPE for visiting a construction site - hard hats, sensible footwear and high vis vests.
