Celebrate the opening program of The House Was Too Small: Yoruba Sacred Arts at the Fowler Museum at UCLA in Los Angeles. This special event marks the museum's 60th Anniversary and features a live performance by artist and abolitionist Patrisse Cullors. From 5-6 pm, Cullors will present her latest performance titled Ori Whispers, which highlights the power and strength of the Black Femme Ori. After the performance, guests can enjoy a party at the Fowler from 6-9 pm with DJ Adé, cocktails, and a Cuban dance performance by choreographer Kati Hernández and her ensemble, KimBambula. The Beginner route will cover approximately 5 miles with an elevation gain of around 1000 feet. For those looking for a bit more challenge, the Intermediate route will cover roughly 10 miles with an elevation gain of about 2000 feet. Both routes are expected to take around two hours to complete. The ride is open to all genders and will be led by knowledgeable women from River City Bicycles. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, participants are advised to bring 2-3 helmet- or handlebar-mounted lights. Additionally, feel free to bring any glow-in-the-dark or light-up costumes for yourself or your bike. Please make sure everything is securely fastened to prevent any trail littering. The adventure begins at the Sandy Ridge Trailhead Parking Lot. Be there at 4:30pm to get ready and roll out by 5:00pm.
