Join the Federal Funds and Infrastructure Office (FFIO) on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 for an information session for local officials and community advocates to assist in successful federal grant applications. FFIO Director Quentin Palfrey will present an overview of how to identify the right grants and access technical assistance and matching state funds. This event will outline how FFIO can help municipalities and regional stakeholders successfully navigate the application processes. After the presentation you will have an opportunity to speak directly with state officials about your community's needs. FFIO was created by the Healey-Driscoll Administration to ensure that Massachusetts benefits from the robust federal grant programs currently available. In September 2024, Governor Healey authorized the Act to Provide for Competitiveness and Infrastructure Investment Act which allows for up to $800 million to be invested over three years to aggressively pursue federal funding opportunities. HENSC Fest! A Cape Cod Music Festival to Benefit the Mark Hennessy Foundation returns to Cape Cod Beer! Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 21st! The Mark Hennessy Foundation, Inc. and Cape Cod Beer are excited to announce the third annual HENSC Fest! A Cape Cod Music Festival to Benefit the Mark Hennessy Foundation! This day-long music festival will take place on Saturday, June 21st from 12-8pm outside in the beer garden at Cape Cod Beer. HENSC Fest will feature a variety of local musicians including Nikki and The Barn Boys , Dirty Water Dance Band , and ENTRAIN ! In addition to live music, there will be an all-day auction, and delicious food trucks on site! Cape Cod Beer will have beer, hard seltzers, seltzer cocktails & NA beverages available for purchase. Mark Hennessy performed his final concert on the Cape Cod Beer stage in April of 2022 before he lost his battle with Multiple Myeloma. Mark Hennessy was an extremely talented musician who played in numerous bands all over the Cape and became a local legend when he formed his band the Cape Cod Slackers. Mark lived his life doing what he loved - playing music for his fans. The Mark Hennessy Foundation continues Mark’s legacy by bringing awareness and providing support to the musically talented children, students and musicians within the Cape Cod Community and beyond. TUESDAY JUNE 24, 2025 6:00pm to 9:30pm PISTOL SKILL BUILDER With OnSight Firearms Training. $125.00 PLEASE NOTE There is a $75 DEPOSIT upon registration. (all deposits are transferable but not refundable) Balance of $50 due on the day of the class - CASH ONLY! CLASS STARTS AT 6:00PM - PLEASE BE THERE NO LATER THAN 5:30PM FOR SET UP AND SAFETY BRIEFING. This class will help build skills & techniques in relation to accurate defensive shooting and shot placement for the intermediate to experienced/advanced shooter. Students will learn proper sight alignment, and sight picture as well as accurate bulls eye shooting with traditional defensive pistols at various distances. This is also a great opportunity for the advanced shooter to refresh and practice their skills as well as learn something new. Prerequisites: All students must understand and be able to successfully maintain all shooting safety fundamentals. Students should know and be able to perform all aspects of safe firearm handing, loading and unloading, malfunction clearing. Students should have experience working out of and back to a holster. Students are expected to arrive no later than 5:45pm for set up and range safety briefing. COURSE BREAKDOWN: The class curriculum contains: - Basic pistol safety fundamentals. - Range safety, orientation and proper range protocol. - Shooting fundamentals (grip, stance, breath control, trigger control, hold control, sight picture and sight alignment, follow through). - Dry fire / live fire drills. - Reloading techniques. - Strong hand and support hand shooting. - Accuracy and speed development drills. - Engaging multiple targets. - Gear discussion/selection. - Alternate shooting positions EQUIPMENT LISTS: All students must bring: - Semi-automatic pistol or revolver of their choice. (a back up/second pistol is recommended in case of malfunction or failure). - Minimum of 250 rounds of quality ammunition - more is better! - Quality eye and ear protection. - Four magazines minimum with magazine carriers/pouch, etc. Please arrive with magazines loaded! - Pistol / caliber specific cleaning supplies and repair kit. - Sturdy belt and strong side holster. Please no flimsy, dangling or cloth holsters. No Blackhawk serpa, Alien Gear, Uncle Mike's or Fobus please! Kydex preferred.
