Keep Your Gin Up: British Gins | Metro Liquor Acre 21

Jun 19, 2025 (UTC-6)ENDED
Regina
Cultural Experiences
Gin's rise to fame is a tale as rich as the spirit itself—and, let’s be honest, gin’s always been a bit of a troublemaker. It all started in the 1500s when the English, embroiled in a few tiffs with Spain in the Netherlands, decided to give juniper-infused spirits a go. Little did they know, they were creating the drink that would become Britain’s liquid obsession. As gin spread across Britain like gossip at a village fête, British sailors took it with them on their voyages. The result? The invention of the Gimlet (born from an urgent need to fend off scurvy with lime) and the Gin and Tonic (created, let’s face it, as a way to choke down quinine without grimacing). From the no-nonsense Old Tom Cat, to the crisp sophistication of London Dry, and all the quirky, modern gin styles that are now enjoyed around the world—British gin has come a long way. So why not join the ranks of gin aficionados and raise a glass to this storied, slightly mischievous spirit? Keep calm and gin on! Information Source: Metro Liquor Stores Regina | eventbrite

Regina
Concerts
Tara Semple will be celebrating the Solstice in Scotland this year, in her absence she has brought together a beautiful offering for the Sun Series. This presentation will not be a sound bath and no cushions will be needed as it will be a seated event. I am super excited to bring together this amazing offering. Please join us as we join our voices in community. This offering will be a very special presentation with sing- along Mantras from Leora and Scott Perrie's new Cd; Mantras for a Magical Life. Dr. Julie Zepp will open and close sacred space and inspire us as we follow the Sun's path in this season. Instead of a Sound Bath we will be offering an ambient sounding. Smaller instruments that will be moved in and out of the seating arrangement so participants get to experience sound in a personal upclose manner. I know you will enjoy receiving sound in this delightful way, as well as the opportunity to use your own voice and join in the the sounds of these beautiful mantras. More about Winsome Kind ....There’s no mistaking the chemistry when you hear Saskatchewan’s husband and wife inspirational folk duo, Winsome Kind. The story of their love, which now spans over a decade, is as beautiful as their music, with memorable melodies, luxurious harmonies, and heartfelt stories. They’ve evolved into inspirational artists, with a mission to heal hearts and empower minds through music. Following an expansive year, including 2 EmPower Positive Music Awards (for Trail of Love, and Frequency), and a Sask Music Award Nomination for Inspirational Artist of the Year, they are absolutely thrilled have recently released a new of album to the world, Mantras for a Magical Life. These mantras were channeled directly from Leora’s heart, and created with conscious intention through the truest collaboration of husband and wife soulmates, along with their little angels who chose to sing along. Recorded, produced and mixed entirely in their home studio by Scott, and all recorded in 432 hz (the frequency of Mother Earth). Winsome Kind’s prayer is that they bring comfort, activate magic, heal hearts, and empower minds. Information Source: Tara Semple of Shunyata Sound Studio | eventbrite
