Vocal Technique Workshop and One-Day Choir with Danny Fong Have you ever wanted to learn about your instrument from a professional, contemporary vocal coach? How about singing in harmony with no long-term commitment? How about BOTH in the same evening? This workshop is designed to level-up your singing, even if you've never sung in a choir or taken a lesson in your life. If you're feeling a little shy or anxious.. rest assured, you will not be put on the spot, or asked to sing or demonstrate anything alone! I'm Danny Fong, an artist born and raised in Saskatoon who has spent the last 18 years based in Toronto. During this time I've been touring and performing in 20+ countries, headlining festivals, teaching contemporary vocal technique as a professional vocal coach, releasing 6 albums, garnering millions of views on YouTube and writing hundreds of vocal arrangements for choirs around the world. I'm currently the choir conductor at Centennial Collegiate as well. You can learn more about me at dannyfong.ca . Here's a little snippet of the Centennial choir. I was offered the position just a couple months ago: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/OqkDAPsrC-8 I am so excited to build community here in Saskatoon and to connect with you. Whether you're a casual singer in a choir or karaoke league, an aspiring professional or somewhere in between .. I have hopes to create more singing events that will excite you ! They could be more-advanced technique workshops, one-day choirs, live-band karaoke events, songwriting or harmonizing, performing and stage presence (or ideas you may have too)! This is my first official event and spaces are limited! My ultimate goal is to create a loving and supportive community of likeminded singing, harmony and music lovers who are interested in events that don't require any major commitment . WHAT TO EXPECT: Part 1: Vocal Technique . This event is going to be similar to the "first vocal lesson" I give all my private students. A complete overview of the instrument and our anatomy, how to use it optimally without tension, how to project like a soloist and how to take your practice to the next level. In short, to give you the knowledge, information and language so you know how to do things correctly. You will leave this workshop a "more-informed singer" so you can practice/perform consciously, knowing what aspects to focus on. Part 2 : One-Day Choir . Danny will lead you in group harmony singing by rote. No sheet music required. No prior experience singing in harmony required. Danny has led workshops around the world and this workshop is the first step in building a regular event in Saskatoon. We'll conclude the session with some social time - I'd love to meet other like-minded musical people from around the city (of all ages!). I am truly seeking to integrate my professional practice into your lives and make meaningful events that you'll be excited to attend in the future. I hope to learn more about what would excite you so I can cater my future events to your desires. I would be eternally grateful if you shared this event with singing folks in your life and join my mailing list so I can keep you posted about upcoming events. (Your email will never be shared and I will not send out newsletters or other junk). I just want to make music with YOU, in person. Danny's Mailing List *Please Note: While this event is listed for "All ages", I think the technique workshop may be too intellectual for most kids under the age of 10. That does not mean they are not welcome! This event is an inclusive and safe space for all humans <3. Information Source: Danny Fong | eventbrite
