Cowboy Family Connection is an educational experience that operates concurrently with Cowboy Camp, McNeese’s new student orientation program. The event is open to parents and family members of all incoming students. Over the day and a half, parents attend the opening and closing sessions of Cowboy Camp with their students and separately spend time engaging in informational and interactive activities centered on building knowledge about the university, understanding general operations, and introductions to services offered to students. The goal of Cowboy Family Connection is to equip parents and guardians with the requisite knowledge needed to be fully supportive of their students throughout their McNeese career. Location: Camp will be held at the McNeese Rec Complex located near the corner of Sale Rd. and Common St. Participants are required to bring a water bottle each day! Campers will learn a routine as well as the traditional fight songs of McNeese. They will enjoy activities such as dressing up for a fashion show, tea parties, and makeup! There will be a showcase on day 3 of camp at 10:30! Precious Pokes shirts will be for sale at camp each day at our Kicker Merch Store! All proceeds go directly into the McNeese Cowgirl Kicker account to help with team operations such as purchasing of new uniforms and team gear, travel, and scholarships. Thank you for your support! Designed especially for students entering 6th through 9th grade, our camp is more than just a place to dance — it’s a high-energy, growth-focused experience built around four powerful words: Challenge, Aspire, Move, and Perform. Throughout the week, dancers will train with the renowned Kickers and their expert coaching staff — a team known for excellence, energy, and inspiration. Whether you're looking to push your boundaries, ignite your passion, sharpen your technique, or shine on stage, Dance C.A.M.P. is where it all begins. Get ready to discover your potential, build lasting friendships, and take your dance journey to the next level! June 30 - July 2, 2025 Dancers entering 6th-9th grade Cost $200. Daily registration is at 1 pm. Camp will end at 4:30 pm. Location: Camp will be held at the McNeese Legacy Center Participants are required to bring a water bottle each day! Campers will start each day with a warm-up, then transition into skills. Jazz, pom, and hip hop routines will be taught after the campers are split into groups. There will be a showcase on day 3 of camp at 3:30 pm! Dance C.A.M.P shirts and daily snacks are included in the registration cost.
