The TRANSCEND Liturgical Dance Conference will take place at St. Andrew AME Church in Memphis, Tennessee, from July 24 to July 27, 2025. For Summer 2025 session, we're doing "Cheryl Day's Treasury of Southern Baking" by Cheryl Day. About the Book/Author: Cheryl Day is a celebrated baker, New York Times bestselling cookbook author, and a James Beard Award nominee. Her bakery, Back in the Day Bakery, was a must-visit spot in Savannah, GA for for 22 years (it closed in 2024). How the pot luck gathering works Buy or borrow the book (Novel offers a 10% disount to Muddy's Cookbook Club participants- check confirmation email for your code) Make a recipe from the book and bring it to share (pot luck style) I'll share a little bit of information about the book (history, context, author, etc) Each participant takes a turn: you'll tell us about what you made & share your thoughts on the book... and we all get to try a taste! You get to taste the dishes folks bring and hear others' thoughts about the book... and have lots of fun with other cookbook enthusiasts! This unique THREE-DAY event provides an opportunity for youth to show off their mobile app development skills and work on a real-world project to benefit our community. Day 1: Kick-Off Thursday, July 17th from 9:00 PM - 5:00 PM . D ay 2: Friday, July 18th from 9:00AM - 5:00PM Day 3: Saturday, July 19th from 9:00AM - 4:00PM The event is open to all current and former CodeCrew participants and any other interested students in grades 5th - 12th (2024 - 2025 school year). It's a mystery, but here are some hints: We'll be reprising the lineup from Holiday Cookie Bonanza 2024: vanilla almond biscotti, chocolate peppermint wreaths, tirimisu drop cookies, and ginger 'kip' bars. In this class, you'll Practice four different cookie methods Bake a cookie assortment that includes a variety of textures & flavors Discuss how to plan & execute a BIG cookie baking project, how to prep, and how to store your cookies Learn lots of baking tips you can apply to other recipes Learn about the ingredients, flavors, and more How to taste food like a professional... the difference between tasting and eating! Spend a day baking with and learning alongside the most fun folks Take home LOADS of ready-to-eat cookies you made yourself... AND some "take & bake" cookie dough to bake later!
