We won't do anything too technical. We don't intend to do any vertical climbing. However be ready for some potential scrambling and/or ridge walking. You need to have enough stamina and fitness for being ready to hike multiple days in a row, for multiple hours. We will walk up and down mountains every day.We would like to climb the main Munros in the Fort Williams area. Some examples of Munros to choose: Ben Nevis, Carn Mor Dearg, Sgurr a Mhaim, Sgurr Thuilm, Sgurr Eilde Mor, Gulvain, etc.The Munros are mountains in Scotland with elevation of over 3,000 ft (914.4 mt).See the Munros map here: https://www.munromap.co.uk/See some potential walks we could do in the Fort Williams area: https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/fortwilliam/We would like this event to happen between June and September, so that we can avoid extreme weather conditions.Full details of the event (including the Munros list, the hiking routes and the difficulties) will be announced later. At the moment we would like to find out who is interested to join us.The event dates might change slightly, depending on different factors. If possible we'll try to stay in the same accommodation, cook and eat together. We will try to book the accommodation at Fort Williams (or nearby), but it will depend on the availability. If we end up being a big group, we might be in different accommodations and/or we might offer multiple hikes on the same day (depending on how many walk leaders we have). It is not required, but we are also looking for people that are willing to collaborate with the organisers. If you are interested in that, please mention how you could help us. Here are some examples of tasks that you could do: choosing the Munros, preparing the hiking routes, leading a hike, finding the accommodation, booking the accommodation, cooking, washing dishes, order the food, driving from the accommodation to the hike starting locations, etc. I will struggle to organise everything by myself, so some help is welcome. If you want to join this event, please try to attend at least one of our events in the Peak District. Exceptions can be made, but ideally we would like to know you and meet you before this event takes place. If you don't live locally, you will need to book an accommodation. We aim to book the accommodation for everyone, however you are free to book it by yourself if you prefer. If you want to stay with us, you will need to contribute with a deposit (it will be refunded if you are no longer able to attend the event and someone else wants to take your place). More details will be announced later. If necessary we could also hire a van for the travelling. The terrain in the Highlands is often rocky. Proper hiking boots are necessary. The full list of required and suggested equipment will be announced later. When you click the RSVP button, there will be a textarea with some questions for you to answers. Please answer carefully and with enough details, this will help the organisers. Please read well the event description before to RSVP and answer the questions.
