TOXIC By Abhishek Upmanyu Stand-Up Comedy Live 2025 | 283 Thomas Raddall Dr
Jun 22, 2025 (UTC-4)ENDED
Thomas
Abhishek Upmanyu is a stand-up comedian, writer and a haiku enthusiast. He looks and sounds like a regular Delhi boy, except that he is harmless. Abhishek does kill though, mostly on stage, and has done so at the biggest of stages on the stand-up circuit. Upmanyu covers seemingly everyday topics with insightful and hilarious effects. With his Shatabdi-fast delivery & writing prowess, rap is an alternate career option for Abhishek but he refuses on principal. Having moved to Mumbai recently for 'better prospects' that may or may not materialize but is bound to make for some crazy material. Must be 16+ to attend, (NO INFANTS / TODDLERS)

The Space Poetic Writing Club | Terrace NQ
Jun 24, 2025 (UTC+0)ENDED
Thomas
Space Poetic Writing Club Part of The Space Poetic's mission is building community, and what better way to do that amongst poets than spend a fun and relaxed hour writing with friends. I'll bring some poems I love, and a few prompts you can use if you need something to get you started. Your welcome to bring something you're already working on, or a fresh page waiting to be filled with new ideas. There'll be the option to chat, or to just get your head down - the room is big enough that we can split into small groups if chatty/less chatty people want. Doesn't matter if you've been writing since you could first hold a pen, or never written at all, this is a safe space to come hang out and enjoy being creative together. And if you're feeling brave you can share your piece (or any piece!) in The Space Poetic open mic afterwards! As a working class human I've come up against pay barriers all my life; there is a little fee to attend this club but if this still presents a barrier please drop me an email :)

Poetry Workshop: Play | Terrace NQ
Jun 4, 2025 (UTC+0)ENDED
Thomas
Poetry Workshop Writing is fun right (write!)? We do it because it bring us, among other things, joy to make and create, to play with language. In this workshop we'll be diving into the fun of poeming, getting silly with language, maybe playing a game, maybe trying some team writing, and having a go at a couple exercises to mix things up and get us thinking and writing outside of the box. There'll be a few things to try, so if you don't fancy the sound of one thing there'll always be an option to do something else. I'll provide some poems and other resources, and guide us through some exercises and games, but if you've got anything else you think helps make writing fun please bring it along to share! This will be a relaxed workshop, but the aim is for you to create at least three pieces of draft writing you can take away with you to continue working on. It doesn't matter if you've been writing since you could first hold a pen, or never written at all, this is a safe and inclusive space to come hang out and enjoy being creative together. Queer community friendly x As a working class human I've come up against pay barriers all my life; this workshop has three payment tiers cos I don't want money to be a barrier to anyone. If you can afford the higher tier please know it's much appreciated, but the lower tiers are there for those who need them. If this still presents a barrier please drop me an email :)
