PARK POLICIES
Director's Determination
It has been determined by the Director of DPOR that this reservation satisfies the provisions under 11 AAC 18.025(c).
- The reservation of a cabin or recreational site does not adversely affect park facilities and/or natural or cultural resources as long as all park regulations are followed. Cabin or recreational sites are in areas where no known cultural resources exist. If cultural resources are identified, the individual that reserved the cabin or recreational site shall inform DPOR.
- State parks will be protected from pollution during the reservation of a cabin or recreational site. All trash and any debris associated with the activity will be removed from the state park. If any fuel spills take place, the individual will contact DPOR immediately.
- The public use values will be protected. Reserving a cabin or recreational site only gives exclusive use to reserved facilities during the reservation period. It does not grant exclusive use of state park land and will prohibit blocking access to state park lands or resources.
- To the extent public health, safety and welfare may be affected by this reservation, this is mitigated by the individual operating in a safe manner, avoids risks to other park users, and follows all stipulations outlined in the reservation.
In issuing this reservation, the Director also determines that cabins and recreational facilities being reserved and used is consistent with any management plan that applies to this area.
Thank you for choosing Alaska State Parks!
Regulations
There are many regulations governing the use of state parks. Here are some that are particularly important to cabin or recreation site users:
1. It is unlawful to use a public use cabin or its facilities without a permit. Each day of unauthorized use of a public use cabin is a separate offense, subject to a $50 fine.
2.
Smoking (in any form, including "vaping") is
STRICTLY FORBIDDEN
in the cabins.
Cabin users are responsible for any damages to the cabins, associated facilities, or park resources. Please report any damages you may find to the local park office or the DNR Public Information Center.
3. The use of explosive devices, such as fireworks, is strictly prohibited within all state parks.
4. No discharge of firearms allowed within a 1/2 mile of a developed facility. Some parks are closed to the discharge of firearms.
5. It is unlawful to cut standing or live trees.
6. Littering is illegal. Please pack out what you pack in.
7. Only dead and down wood can be used for fires and only during your stay in the park.
8. Camping near a cabin is not allowed. A person may not camp, pitch a tent, or stay overnight within 300 feet of a public use cabin.
Public Use Cabin Information
The cabins are located along trails, remote lakes, streams, and saltwater beaches. Some cabins are accessible via highway vehicle. Most cabins are accessible year 'round, by either plane (float/wheel/ski), boat, or trail. Hikers should prepare for backcountry travel and to provide emergency shelter if they are unable to reach their cabin. The cabins are equipped with wooden sleeping platforms, a table, chairs or benches, and a nearby latrine. Designs vary. Renters should take an air mattress/sleeping pad, sleeping bag, gas or propane stove for cooking, and some way to purify water.
Check-in/Check-out Times:
The earliest you may check-in to all cabins is 12:00 pm (noon). Check-out time is 12:00 pm (noon) the following day or last day of reservation. Ice hut rental check-in is 12:01 am to 11:59 p.m. the day of the rental.

May 16 at 9 AM
The draft follows closely (
TBA)
, this early draft will allow us time to get the jerseys done
There will still be a check-in event on the Friday of the tourney location TBA.
Schedule for the weekend of play
F R I D A Y
CHECK-IN:
We are hosting an early check-in party on
Friday, July 26
. Come down and check in and pick up your jersey. We'll be giving away a bat and a few other items to those who check in Friday. If you're on the road just let us know, the trick for us is to confirm everyone will be attending, don't want a team to be short handed.
S A T U R D A Y
GAMES:
start at 8 am
Why do it?
Softball season in Alaska is short and every weekend counts.
What it is?
Think of when you were a kid and you had to choose up teams from everyone that wanted to play. We’re going back to basics, we’re playing to just play. No Nationals berth, no roster checks, nothing, just play the game and hopefully make some new friends before putting away the gear for the long Alaska winter.
Who?
We are shooting for
20
teams,
five
women and
seven
men per team so everyone plays. You don’t have to play on a Coed team to play, men's and women's PLAYERS are more than welcome and even encouraged.
THIS IS A TWO DAY EVENT
, Please don’t sign-up if you can’t commit to playing both days.
How?
One of the concerns that have popped up several times is how will the teams be balanced. We can’t guarantee that all the teams will have the same roster and that every game will come down to the last at-bat. What we are doing is making sure the people we pick as coaches are knowledgable about the talent that is available and that they are competitive and interested in putting a team together. The draft will be very similar to a fantasy football or baseball draft, 1-16, 16-1 and so on. It will be up to the coach to make the decision about when to grab a pitcher and just how important is a shortstop. We hope by making solid choices for coaches it will help make the rosters a little more balanced.
Here’s what you will get for your $60:
4 game guarantee and everyone plays
Official SuperDraft jersey at the event
Drawings – everyone will have a shot to walk away with a prize, bat, glove, etc.
Jerseys will be available at the tourney.
Be responsible: If you sign-up and can’t make it please let us know before the draft.
