Going beyond the basics taught in Beginners Sewing, we will be learning in greater depth about some of the more advanced stitches and techniques that you can achieve with your sewing machine. You will be using one of our Britannia sewing machines. We will explore: Installing a zipper Sewing a buttonhole Sewing on a button Finishing a woven fabric with an overcast stitch Making a blind hem Using a walking foot Exploring free motion embroidery We will also talk about how to care for your machine, discussing sewing machine needles and how/why to change them, along with picking the right needle and foot for different fabrics.
