Estelle of Fashion Fusion is excited to bring our popular Fashion Fix sessions to Bullcroft Memorial Hall in Carcroft, as part of the Roots to Renewal pilot project. These free, welcoming workshops are open to everyone—whether you’re a seasoned sewer or just curious to try something new. We’ll provide all the equipment, materials, and expert guidance you need to repair, mend, upcycle, or dive into a creative textile activity. Each session is a chance to learn new skills, breathe new life into old garments, and connect with others in your community. Community walks are reliant on residents volunteering to lead walks and Doncaster Council are here to help residents to either set up or join existing walks as a leader. Being a Walk Leader can be rewarding, fun, and a great opportunity to meet people and socialise. The main role of a walk leader is to lead safe, enjoyable and welcoming walks. Join Gill for a Sewing Day Escape This is an in-person sewing day, where all are welcome. It's a great opportunity to escape and take some time out, to sew and immerse yourself in creativity, to meet other people and to have some fun, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Drinks are included and there's the option of booking lunch. All you need to bring is yourself, your sewing machine, sewing kit and your project (including any fabric and supplies needed), and your lunch if you aren't booking it through us. Arrival is from 10am for a day of social sewing, departure is at 4pm. Her favourite thing to sew for herself is trousers, having struggled for years to find ready to wear ones that fit her shape. She is disabled with an upper limb difference and has experience in the many ways sewing can be made more accessible, she also has heaps of tips and tricks in adaptive clothing (making and changing garments to make them easier to wear). Gill was also on The Great British Sewing Bee in 2022. You can find her on instagram @TheOneArmedSewist Vicki has taught herself to sew over the last 10 years gaining experience with a wide range of different types of garments, as well as some quilting over recent years. She found her love of sewing through being able to sew for her children, but also as it has helped her find a love for her own body. She feels liberated by her ability to sew as she no longer feels restricted by ill fitting ready to wear garments that don’t represent her style, and feels passionate about spreading the importance of that to others. Vicki’s favourite things to make are shirts and quilted garments as she loves all the intricate details. Vicki works as a police dispatcher and in her spare time designs fabric and haberdashery. Vicki was also the Semi-finalist on the Great British Sewing Bee 2023.
