The name "Nardugan" comes from the ancient Turkic words "Nar" (sun) and "Tugan" (birth), which means: "The sun is born!". This is not an ordinary festival, but a grand celebration symbolizing the "return of daylight and the reappearance of warm sunshine". It has been popular in Central Asia, Turkey and even Uzbekistan for a long time, and now it has finally been brought to Australia!
