Join the AmpSurf & RAPID Learn to Surf Clinic at Seaside Beach in Seaside, OR on August 19. This clinic aims to promote the healing power of Adaptive Surf Therapy for People with Disabilities, Veterans & First Responders. Participants living with disabilities or lifelong conditions are invited to join this rewarding experience. The schedule for participants includes arrival at 8:00 a.m., followed by dry land instruction from 8:30-9:00 a.m. The in-water surf instruction takes place from 9:00-11:00 a.m., and the day concludes with lunch and tear down from 11:30-12:00 p.m. Participants are encouraged to contact AmpSurf in advance to ensure proper accommodations can be made. Participants should bring a swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, picture ID, snacks, and water. AmpSurf will provide a surfboard, wetsuit, rash guard, and a beach wheelchair if needed. The registration fee for participants is $25, and grants are available for Veterans and First Responders who cannot afford the fee. Volunteers are also needed for this clinic, and their help is crucial to its success. Volunteer schedules include arrival and set up at 7:00 a.m., briefing at 7:30 a.m., and assisting participants with wetsuit fittings at 8:00 a.m. The clinic concludes with participants departing and volunteers tearing down and packing up at 11:30 a.m. Volunteers should commit to the entire time they signed up for.
