A powerhouse in the fight for voting rights, Celina leads our 105-year-old organization in its mission to empower voters and defend democracy nationwide. With a career steeped in public service and advocacy, she brings sharp insight and bold leadership to one of the most critical issues of our time.
You may have seen Celina featured in major media outlets such as CBS News Sunday Morning, CNN, TIME, Vogue, The New York Times, Bloomberg, and more—where she speaks passionately on voting rights, civic engagement, and the challenges facing our democracy. She holds a JD from Western Michigan University Law School and a BA in Sociology from Spelman College.
Join fellow members from both San Diego County Leagues for an informal gathering that begins with mingling over wine and light hors d’oeuvres, followed by a candid presentation from Celina about her journey with the League, the organization’s current initiatives, and the urgent work ahead in today’s political climate. The La Jolla (Jewelry in Spanish) area is located in the north of downtown San Diego. It is a famous natural ecological reserve in Southern California, the main residential area for the rich in San Diego, and a famous tourist area.
