In this two hour workshop, award-winning poet Ciarán Hodgers will guide participants through a process of 'animating' our text. Animism is defined as  the attribution of a living soul to plants, inanimate objects and natural phenomena . Lying at the heart of folk-practice and indigenous wisdom, we will call on this process through writing prompts and discussion to blur the boundaries between the human and the natural world, so we can explore reciprocity, connection and belonging in our natural environment and help us understand a bit more about what it means to be human existing in and with a living, breathing ecosystem of aliveness. Materials will be provided, there is no prior reading needed and you can be at any level of experience creatively. Please bring something to write on and with like a notebook and pen.
