The English version of the musical "Les Misérables" has so far been translated into 22 languages. It was once selected as "Number One Essential Musicals" by the BBC. It has been performing continuously for more than 30 years, making it the longest-running musical in London's West End. "Les Misérables" has swept various musical theater awards, including multiple "Tony Awards", "Laurence Olivier Awards" and "Grammy Awards". Les Miserables the Musical is staged at the Sondheim Theater in London's West End. The theater only performs this one play all year round. Since the English version of "Les Misérables" was successfully produced and premiered at the Barbican Center in London in 1985, it has performed 8 performances a week in London and has been performing frequently. By 2010, the cumulative number of performances in London had exceeded 10,000. In March 2010, Les Misérables celebrated its 25th anniversary with three productions in London: the original version at Queen's Theatre; a 25th anniversary touring version at the Barbican Centre, where it premiered in 1985; and a 25th anniversary concert at the O2 Arena.

Earlier this year, London's Tate Modern announced the receipt of a significant recent painting by British artist Bridget Riley (b. 1931). This most influential contemporary artist generously donated her 2024 work, Concerto 1, which premiered alongside other works by Riley in a special exhibition at the museum. The Tate's collection now encompasses Riley's remarkable career spanning six decades.

Consisting of three large scale bodies of sculptures, namely: NEST (II), BODIES (I,II), and CORDS (VI, VII, VIII, IX), the exhibition drew from George Oppen’s poem Of Being Numerous, which explores themes of existence, perception, and the intersection of individual and collective experiences within an urban setting. In particular, it focused on Oppen’s second verse of the poem where he reflects on the ‘city of the corporations’ and the ‘mineral fact’, concepts that resonate with the architectural context of 100 Bishopsgate. Beveridge’s use of glass and metal, materials central to the construction of the building, creates an instense, yet subtle dialogue between the installation and its environment. This approach aims to blur the lines between the interior and exterior, creating a seamless connection between the artwork and its architectural setting.
