Moulin Rouge! The Musical | null

Welcome to a dream world where romance and grandeur intertwine—a visual feast and a carnival for the soul. Here, bohemians and aristocrats sit side by side, celebrating together in an electrifying haze of euphoria. The champagne is about to pop, so get ready for this unparalleled "spectacular spectacular"... Baz Luhrmann's groundbreaking film has been reborn on stage with a fresh musical twist. Directed by Tony-nominated director Alex Timbers, this production brilliantly blends the emotional core of the classic movie with contemporary pop music, creating a visually stunning experience that's both retro and avant-garde. It's not just a story about love, freedom, and beauty—it's a grand celebration of "truth, beauty, freedom, and above all, love." The script is penned by Tony Award winner John Logan, with music supervision, arrangements, and orchestrations by Justin Levine, and choreography by Emmy-nominated Sonya Tayeh. This collaboration of top-tier artists elevates Moulin Rouge! beyond a traditional musical, transforming it into an emotional experience and a lifestyle statement—inviting audiences to immerse themselves in the dazzling nightlife of late 19th-century Montmartre, Paris, and witness a love story that struggles yet blossoms amid neon lights and melodies. Since its debut in London's West End and New York's Broadway, "Moulin Rouge!" has captivated global audiences with its lavish stage design, a medley of hit pop songs, and gripping storytelling. It not only revives the pure longing behind the hedonism portrayed in the film but also transcends time through contemporary musical language, making this tale of art, love, and sacrifice resonate deeply with viewers.

London England EC2N 4AG United Kingdom 100 Bishopsgate

Glassed In Dreams | null

Consisting of three large scale bodies of sculptures, namely: NEST (II), BODIES (I,II), and CORDS (VI, VII, VIII, IX), the exhibition drew from George Oppen’s poem Of Being Numerous, which explores themes of existence, perception, and the intersection of individual and collective experiences within an urban setting. In particular, it focused on Oppen’s second verse of the poem where he reflects on the ‘city of the corporations’ and the ‘mineral fact’, concepts that resonate with the architectural context of 100 Bishopsgate. Beveridge’s use of glass and metal, materials central to the construction of the building, creates an instense, yet subtle dialogue between the installation and its environment. This approach aims to blur the lines between the interior and exterior, creating a seamless connection between the artwork and its architectural setting.
