Join us for a discussion with local novelist and adventure writer Heather Wernerabout her book Summit's Shadow, a thriller about a group of friends climbing Mount Torket, a mountain that can be a climber's dream—or nightmare. The higher they climb, the more the women suspect they’re not alone. Footsteps and shadows stalk their every move, growing bolder and more vicious as the days wear on. When a slew of near-death accidents befall their journey, the friends must band together, even as Torket threatens to rip them apart. Otherwise, they’ll end up as one more batch of souls lost to the dark and hungry mountain. The event is free. You don't need to register to attend. Heather Werner is a novelist and adventure writer. Whether she’s scaling the Seven Summits, bicycling across continents, or giving a world-record haircut on the slopes of Mount Everest, she loves to find the small, intimate stories woven into the journey. Heather is a contributing writer for Weekend Sherpa and Trail Sisters, and is the author of the action thrillers Summit's Shadow and Wolf Smoke.
