Learn the fundamental techniques of shooting a video at the beginner level videography workshop, Creating Footage | Get Started In: Video Production. This program is exclusively available to members of the National Library Board, Singapore. Before registering, please ensure that you have your myLibrary username ready. If you don't have one yet, you can easily create it here.

Have you ever wondered about the intricate processes involved in planning, shooting, and producing a simple video, but didn't know where to begin? Join us for this two-part series, consisting of Creating Footage and Editing Footage, and get hands-on experience in producing your own video. Although it is strongly recommended to attend both workshops, you are still welcome to join even if you can only attend one.

This interactive workshop is designed for beginners and covers essential topics such as video planning, creating a shot list, basic composition and lighting techniques, camera movements and transitions, and recording audio. By the end of the workshop, you will have shot your own video. To participate, please bring a fully charged smartphone as you are expected to have a basic knowledge of recording videos using your phone.

The workshop will be led by Benjamin, a freelance photographer and videographer who has been actively involved in photography since 2014. His passion for photography and videography led him to curate a photography exhibition titled "Mental Pictures" that explores the connection between photography and mental health. Benjamin believes in the power of photography to positively impact our well-being. 

This workshop is part of the Get Started In: Video Production series, an artist-led initiative that aims to equip participants with the necessary skills to create their own videos. All workshops are beginner-friendly, so join us and Get Started In: Video Production.
