Drawing from her own personal journey, she established Doula X Design after discovering the transformative power of design during her own childbirth experience. Holden's expertise lies in creating positive environments that support labor, rather than hinder it. Her work as the William Henry Bishop Visiting Professor of Architectural Design at Yale School of Architecture has allowed her to delve deeper into the physical, physiological, and psychological aspects of birth. By championing safer, more respectful, and equitable care, Holden aims to shift the conversation surrounding childbirth from a women's issue to a societal one. This event, part of the Daniels Faculty's Winter 2024 Public Program, promises to offer valuable insights into the vital role design plays in shaping birth experiences.
