EXPROSÉ: Poet Showcase & Writing Workshop is a non-profit poetry event in Mississauga at Studio.89. This unique workshop aims to create a space where poets and writers can connect with featured guests and explore the intricacies of their craft. Through a combination of exposé and prose, artists will delve deep into their work, stripping away layers of metaphors and similes to reveal the essence of their pieces.

During the workshop, attendees will have the opportunity to write draft pieces inspired by the showcase. With three prompts provided, participants will have 10 minutes of dedicated writing time for each prompt. There are no restrictions on the number of pieces that can be written during this period, as long as attendees make the most of this creative space.

At the end of the writing section, the host will share one of their own pieces and encourage those comfortable with public speaking to do the same. The goal of this series is to foster a sense of excitement and accomplishment in attendees, while also boosting the confidence of featured poets. Additionally, EXPROSÉ aims to strengthen connections within Mississauga's local poetry community.

While admission to this event is free, donations to the Twas The Bite Before Christmas charity will be collected and submitted at the end of the series. The suggested age group for attendees is 19+. All necessary materials will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own favorite notebook and pen. Refreshments will also be available at the venue, Studio.89, and free parking is provided on-site.

Please note that a strict code of conduct is enforced at all EXPROSÉ events. This code includes a zero-tolerance policy for harassment or discrimination based on race, sexual orientation, gender identity, cultural background, religious affiliation, age, or physical or mental ability. Respectful and gentle feedback is encouraged, with permission required before giving any feedback that is not entirely positive. Any personal stories shared during the workshop should remain within the confines of the event, unless explicit permission is given to share them outside of the space.
