A History Written in Stone - Please join Scot Krueger of the Friends of the Boston Harborwalk (FBHW) for a combination virtual and walking tour to examine the role that geology has played in the history of Boston. The presentation will begin in the Leventhal Center Room at the Boston Harbor Hotel - located at 70 Rowes Wharf. The Leventhal Center Room is accessible by walking through the hotel's large exterior arch and turning left (the room is not accessible from the lobby or the interior of the Boston Harbor Hotel).
A 30-minute presentation will describe the geologic history of the greater Boston area and some of the most common local building stones. After the presentation, we will walk north along the Harborwalk, examining building stones used along the waterfront. Along the way, we will discuss the history and settlement of Boston, with an emphasis on the role played by local geology. We will also discuss the timely issues of the Harbor cleanup in recent decades and the potential danger that sea level rise poses to the man-made land along the waterfront.
All are welcome, but please only RSVP if you plan to come, as seating space is limited and we want to be able to contact you in case of inclement weather. Sometimes, space frees up on the morning of the event and we can accommodate a few on a stand-by basis.
Due to seating/space constraints, only ticket holders will have access to this event.
The Friends of the Boston Harborwalk is a volunteer group affiliated with Boston Harbor Now. The group meets monthly to promote awareness, public enjoyment and local stewardship of Boston’s 43-mile Harborwalk.

The experience is very good, the tour guide keeps talking for an hour, amusing everyone. You can experience all the city views on the land surface. The moment I launched the water, I was videoing it. I met other duck boats during the journey. Everyone would learn to duck and say hello to each other.

The aquarium is well designed, but the venue is a bit small. When there are activities in the school, there are a lot of children coming. Boston in May was still very cold and encountered heavy wind and rain. The ticket price feels a bit expensive.

If the weather is good, you can walk all the way from Boston Park to think of the top of the stone tablet. The only way is to climb a total of 294 steps, and mark the numbers every other section, so that people who are panting and climbing have a number of monuments in their hearts. In fact, there is only a small space, but looking out through the small windows on all sides, I immediately feel that climbing the stairs is also worth it ～
