Join artist-teacher Mariette Moor for the 'How to be more octopus?' Half-term Art Workshop (10 - 14 yrs) at Bloc Projects Ltd in Sheffield. This exciting workshop, inspired by the exhibition 'As Small As Eyes' (ASAE), explores the fascinating world of octopus intelligence and sentience. Did you know that the octopus and humans shared a common ancestor over 600 million years ago? This makes the octopus one of the closest creatures to an 'alien' on Earth.

The workshop will offer a range of engaging activities for young people, including collaborative drawing, learning and quizzing fun octopus facts, and costume-making using pre-prepared materials. All materials will be provided, and simple refreshments will be available. The workshop is free and open to all, with drop-ins welcome, although priority will be given to those who book in advance. Please be aware that there is a limit of 15 participants for this workshop.

Mariette Moor, a London-based artist, will lead the workshop. As a graduate of Goldsmiths and the Ruskin School of Art, Mariette has exhibited her work across the UK and abroad. She has also been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Sir William Dunn Art Award and the Vivien Leigh Drawing Prize. Her work can be found in the permanent collections of the Oxford School of Pathology and the Ashmolean Museum.
