La Peña Cultural Center in Berkeley, CA is excited to announce the upcoming Intermediate Salsa, Bachata & Merengue Dance Class Series from October 23rd to November 13th. This series is designed for beginner to intermediate students who want to expand their skills in these popular Latin dance styles. Led by Venezuelan dance instructor Juliana Mendonca, the classes focus on connecting to the rhythms and movements before delving into steps and turns. Juliana's unique teaching style helps students develop their own authentic feel for each genre. The series consists of four classes, held on Monday evenings from 7:30pm to 8:30pm. Partners are not necessary, and the class is inclusive to individuals of all genders, non-binary, and LGBTQ+. The tuition cost for the entire series is $94, and drop-ins are not available, so be sure to register in advance. As a bonus perk, students will receive a FREE ticket to an upcoming BAILA! Community Dance Party. La Peña is committed to creating a safe and inclusive space for all participants, and asks that everyone treat each other with respect, practice active listening, and honor each other's gender identity and pronouns.
