This new exhibition by one of the UK’s most renowned and celebrated contemporary artists will present new paintings, a special installation made in collaboration with Magda Stawarska and ‘interventions’ in the Kettle’s Yard house.Initially trained in theatre design, Himid is best known for her innovative approaches to painting and social engagement, playing a pivotal role in the British Black Arts movement since the 1980s. Over the last decade, she has earned international recognition for her figurative canvases, which explore overlooked and invisible aspects of history and contemporary daily life.

A very niche attraction, it is the former residence of Jim Ede, one of the Tate curators, and his wife. They later donated this place to Cambridge University, but put forward a lot of donation requirements, such as the lemons on the plates on the first floor must be changed every week, and the flowers in the house must correspond to the flowers in the paintings. All the chairs inside can be sat on. Really, every chair has a different perspective when you sit down, and they are all very beautiful. On the second floor, when you go up the stairs, you can see the fireplace and bookshelf by looking at the mirror next to the stairs. It is also very beautiful. There is a convex lens at the position of Figure 1⃣️. As people go up and down the stairs, the convex lens will rotate slightly due to the slight vibration of the house, and you can see green plants at different angles. It is also beautiful. The small chairs feel very comfortable. Calm down and experience it. I remember that it is free to visit if you are under 25 years old. You must book tickets on the official website in advance.
