Artist and artisan, art theorist and proto-installation artist, master of high-publicity performances and rival of Auguste Rodin, Medardo Rosso (b. 1858 in Turin, d. 1928 in Milan) was one of the great pioneers of modernism. mumok is dedicating a comprehensive retrospective to the Italian-French artist’s still little-known oeuvre, which will feature about ﬁfty sculptures and a large selection of photographs, photocollages, and drawings. The exhibition delves into a thorough analysis of Rosso's processual and repetitive and radical anti-heroic approach, with which the artist deﬁed all conventions of traditional sculpture. A selection of works by artists directly or indirectly inﬂuenced by Rosso — such as Francis Bacon, Nairy Baghramian, Phyllida Barlow, Lynda Benglis, Louise Bourgeois, Constantin Brâncuși, Edgar Degas, Alberto Giacometti, David Hammons, Eva Hesse, Marisa Merz, Robert Morris and Andy Warhol — further unpack and create a dialogue with Rosso’s equally groundbreaking and hermetic work. The “expanded” retrospective thus adheres to Rosso’s own artistic practice of not exhibiting alone but in “conversation” with others.
The exhibition, which is being organized in close collaboration with the Medardo Rosso Estate, will subsequently travel to Kunstmuseum Basel, where it will be on view from March to August 2025.

Watching the palace concert performed by the Vienna Mozart Orchestra in the Golden Hall, the actors were dressed in costumes, which made me feel very involved. I paid for the tickets through Ctrip.com, and soon received an order with a confirmation QR code after placing the order. I did not need to print it out, and could check the ticket with the screen of my mobile phone to enter the venue.

The best museum in Vienna!!! Definitely get a map because you will get lost! It&#39;s so big and has many rooms of different art and artifacts!! Has some nice tables to eat and drink because you might need more energy!Statues, coins, jewellery, stones, mummies, paintings, everything I tell you! You also need at least 3 hours to fully see it!! Best 21 euros spent!! Worth every cent!

Love the palace in the museum, I think it&rsquo;s very worthy visiting!!! a little bit expensive, but is still very worthy. Make sure you go earlier, cause there is just too many things to see.

It&#39;s quite good. There&#39;s a note at the door saying no taking photos, but you can still take photos if no one is watching. There&#39;s a free toilet at the door, don&#39;t go to the toilet next door that charges 1 euro. You don&#39;t need to buy a ticket, you can use the toilet. Learn about Sissi&#39;s history, there&#39;s a Chinese interpreter, scan the ticket, go upstairs and get it in the lobby. No English is a problem

Very fun art museum, the outside looks mysterious, but the inside is full of wonderful master works. It is also the largest collection of modern art in Central Europe. In the center of Vienna, it is very suitable for sightseeing. If you are tired, you can have a cup of coffee on the first floor. Leaning on a bench, watching the crowds coming and going, and experiencing the other side of this ancient European city.
