Join Rachel Cohen for an immersive weekend of Monoprint and Drypoint techniques at the Phoenix Art Space in Brighton. This two-day workshop offers a unique opportunity to learn and master two distinct printmaking methods.

On the first day, participants will delve into the art of Monoprinting. Through hands-on instruction, you will explore both the direct and subtraction methods, using a variety of tools such as rollers, brushes, pencils, and pens. Working on glass or plastic, you will experiment with black and colored printing inks, as well as an assortment of paper types. Rachel will guide you in creating stunning prints that can be easily replicated in your own studio.

The second day will focus on Drypoint etching, a straightforward intaglio technique. By scratching intricate designs onto surfaces, you will create unique prints that can be reproduced using a press. Rachel will provide clear plastic and recycled cartons as mediums, along with black and colored inks and tissue paper collage. This workshop is open to artists and beginners alike, with no prior experience or drawing skills required.

All necessary materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own images for inspiration. The event will take place at the Red Room in the Phoenix Art Space, located at 10-14 Waterloo Pl, Brighton, BN2 9NB. Please wear suitable attire, as printing can be messy. We were there on a weekend and mainly walked outside, looking at the gardens and the architecture. We didn&rsquo;t go inside as their hours of operation didn&rsquo;t coincide with the time we were there and had available. Great place to stroll, people watch, or have a picnic, weather permitting.

Had my first date here with my partner and we hadthe best time. An amazing aquarium with abeautiful atmosphere, lights and gorgeouscreatures! I love animals and fish and seeing themhere was wonderful. Staff were lovely and veryknowledgeable. The place was clean, easy tonavigate and extremely ambient and beautiful. We went on a Thursday afternoon so was pretty quiet!

One of the best piers in the South of England. There is lots to do with tons of seaside rides, fun arcade games and food. Highly recommend catching the sunset here and if you&rsquo;re lucky you might catch the starlings dancing at dusk, I didn&rsquo;t know they do this and it was the most spectacular striking and stunning natural phenomenon I had seen, it was mesmerising. Highest chances of seeing the starlings dance is between November-March, we visited in early March

more like a downtown touristy place with many cafes and cosmetic shops. very easy to get lost while looking for some place on maps. almost did when i was lookong for Mac cosmetics...you will find Jo Malone, Bobby Brown and Mac cosmetics all in one small area. and coffee shops too. on my second attempt i was looking for pizza express and i almost missed it. hehehh the lanes is one place that gets you wondering what exactly is going on with your maps application. definately recomend you to not miss it while in brighton. on your way to lanes you will meet Tmax the famous brand discount shop and boy, you will thank me then.
