MZD Workshop Earlybird | Contact Improvisation & Instantaneous Composition

Experience the transformative power of contact improvisation and instantaneous composition at the upcoming MZD Workshop with renowned dance improvisation expert Andrew de Lotbinière Harwood. This exclusive workshop will take place at the Mile Zero Dance Society in Edmonton from April 5th to April 7th, 2024.

Earlybird registration is now open until March 1st, offering you the opportunity to secure your spot at a reduced rate. The 3-day workshop is priced at $150 for earlybird registration and $200 for registrations after March 1st. For those unable to attend the full workshop, single day drop-ins are available for $65 per session.

Each class will begin with a warm-up that focuses on releasing and extending the body, awakening the senses, and developing awareness of inner and outer space. Throughout the workshop, you will practice various contact skills to enhance your range of movement, build confidence, and create a sense of safety. Explore the role of perception, sensation, expression, and imagination in contact work as you strive to achieve a state of consciousness that is aware but not self-conscious.
