Synopsis:
Amid an escalating crisis of farmer suicides, a young widow, Sanjeevani, intent on the seemingly impossible task of providing a better life for herself and her children, refuses to surrender to despair or the cultural ostracization of widows. In a quiet yet powerful act of resistance, she discovers a community of other widows, confronting, sharing, and collectively overcoming grief. Through this shared sisterhood, she forges a path forward, finding unexpected strength in being there for others like her
Kinshuk Surjan is a 35-year-old Indian filmmaker based in Bhopal. His first short film POLA won the Indian National Student Film Award for Best Film and Best Script in 2013. After working as a second assistant director on the film ISLAND CITY, awarded at the Venice Film Festival, he was awarded a scholarship to pursue his master’s at DocNomads. During this period, his short DIVIDED LINES was screened at the 2015 Jihlava Film Festival. In 2017, his graduation film, DE FLANDRIEN, won the Flanders Audiovisual Fund’s VAF WILDCARD, which enabled him to pursue the research for his first feature film, MARCHING IN THE DARK.

Synopsis:
Set in a small apartment, the story follows the chaotic daily routine of Varsha. She lives with her husband, Amol, and their son, Yash. They care for 70-year-old Narmada, who is suffering from the late stages of Alzheimer's. Narmada's past memories and her consciousness have diminished almost entirely. Even so, she remembers a few Ovis (folk songs) from her laborious past, her fingers remember the touch of garlic and how to peel it, her body remembers the addiction to roasted tobacco (misri), and she remembers her son, who never existed. Amongst all this chaos, Varsha realises she has missed her period, and a paradox unfolds.

Born and raised in a village in Nashik, India. I come from an agricultural background. Initially opted for medical studies despite artistic leanings. I am now a self-taught filmmaker, having created three independent short films.

To see the Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island, you need to buy tickets in advance, the earliest boat is 9 o&#39;clock. The boat dock is in Battery Park, very close to the Wall Street Copper Bull. The park itself is not big, but you can also stroll around. You need to check in before taking the boat, and then line up, so you have to arrive early. Get on the boat or stand in front of the right side of the boat to see the Statue of Liberty with the best view. The second or third floors are fine. The boat time is about 20 minutes. After going to the island, it is mainly to see the Statue from multiple perspectives. There are pedestal tickets and crown tickets. If you have bad legs, don&#39;t buy crown tickets. There is also a museum on the island, the interpreter can be picked up for free, there is Chinese. After returning to Alice Island, you can&#39;t disembark if you don&#39;t want to see it, and you can come back directly to the pier.
