Join Artist-Teacher Marissa Sykes at Angels Gate Cultural Center for October's Family Art Workshop: Day of the Dead Traditions! This free workshop offers a unique opportunity to learn about this cultural tradition and create your own family altar at home. Whether you're a kid or an adult, aged 1 to 101, all are welcome to participate in the art activities. The workshop includes a special focus on setting up a Day of the Dead Altar, and attendees will have the chance to contribute to the Angels Gate Cultural Center Community Altar. Get creative and make tissue paper flowers to adorn your own altar or add to the community altar. Additionally, you can bring a photograph or momento to honor a departed loved one and have it placed on the Day Of The Dead Altar, which will be on display in our main gallery until November 18th. Please note that children must be accompanied by an adult at all times, and pets are not allowed in our galleries or classrooms.
