Hear international guests Nikki Lam and Phuong Ngo of Hyphenated Projects introduce their work as curators and arts organisers through the lens of the Artspace Aotearoa 2024 annual question “do I need territory?” Hyphenated Projects is a Naarm Melbourne based artist-led network nurturing practice in Asian diasporas. Their work focuses on supporting artists who operate with the hyphens—culturally, socially and geographically.  This kaupapa is presented in association with the Satellites’ visiting artists programme. The lecture will be followed by a Q&A. Booking is encouraged but not essential. WHAT TO EXPECT This event is free.This event will be held in the Kit, which can be accessed by the main gallery entrance or alternatively by our car park on 8 East St for assisted access.This location is accessible with assistance.This event will be seated and microphones will be used.Light refreshments will be provided. BIOGRAPHIES Nikki Lam is an artist-curator and filmmaker based in Naarm Melbourne. Working primarily with moving images and text, her work explores memory through contemplation on time, spaces and impermanence. With an expanded practice, she is currently co-director of Hyphenated Biennial and Hyphenated Projects, an artist-led network that nurtures practice in Asian diasporas. She also co-runs Slow Burn Books, a bookshop that circulates independent art publications across Asia-Pacific. Nikki is a PhD candidate at RMIT University. Phuong Ngo is an artist and curator living and working in Naarm/Melbourne. He is co-director of Hyphenated Projects, Chair of un Projects, a member of the Substation curatorium and holds a PhD from RMIT University. His practice is concerned with the interpretation of history, memory and place, and how it impacts individual and collective identity. Through an archival process rooted in a conceptual practice, he seeks to find linkages between culture, politics and oral histories and historic events.

You won&#39;t find the entrance on the ground level, take an escalator inside the hotel and go down to the basement. Although i find the admission fee is a bit high but a tall sky tower overlooking the city of Auckland is a must see... don&#39;t miss it.

Yes, it&#39;s very family friendly and especially great on a wet or rainy day at Auckland. Plan for at least a 2 if not 3hr visit. But do take note that parking is quite limited but you could park further down the coastal road if you&#39;re prepared walk a little.

The whole experience was great, and it&#39;s a great place to learn about New Zealand&#39;s history and culture. The museum is quite large and worth a good half-day visit. There are many interactive exhibits, especially suitable for taking children out. There are also Chinese services, which is recommended.

Although Mount Eden is not high, you can overlook the whole of Auckland from the top of the mountain, and the view is particularly wide. The remains of the crater are clearly visible, covered with green grass, a peaceful green. It is not difficult to walk all the way up. You can also see sheep grazing on the hillside. Their leisurely appearance makes people can&#39;t help but take a few more photos. The wind on the top of the mountain is very strong, but it is also very fresh, which makes people feel particularly bright. It is a good place that does not require tickets or planning, but can leave very deep memories.

Auckland Central Park is not like the common landscape parks in the city. It is more like a natural forest. The winding tree-lined paths and the tall trees on both sides make you feel like you are walking into the original green field, with thick fallen leaves and soft soil under your feet. The air is filled with the fragrance of plants, which is very suitable for jogging, walking the dog or just taking a quiet walk. There are also several sculptures and small bridges hidden along the way, which adds a little fun. Although it is not far from the city, you can completely escape the rhythm of the city once you enter the park.
