Rebekah Nolan at Golden Hour Books Join us for a morning with Rebekah Nolan at Golden Hour Books as she reads STEP. STEP. STEP., a new storybook written and illustrated by the Indy-based artist. Following the reading, guests with children are invited to a private viewing of Nolan's concurrent exhibition at COMPANION, also titled STEP. STEP. STEP. The exhibition explores the visuals and theme of the book through new drawings, new sounds, and new installations created in collaboration with artists Landon Caldwell, Danielle Joy Graves, Nick Witten, and Priya Wittman. Signed, first edition copies of STEP. STEP. STEP. are available for purchase at COMPANION throughout the exhibition, on view April 25 — June 1, 2025.

She was raised in a family of artists and musicians and spent her formative years amid Tennessee’s vibrant music and craft art communities. She co-founded and served as Creative Director of Flatland Kitchen creative studio for 16 years, where she collaborated with local and national musicians, chefs, and mapmakers. Her painting, printmaking, sculpture, and installation work has been exhibited with galleries, universities, public institutions, and artist-run spaces throughout the Midwest. She uses supple, exaggerated forms and abstract depictions of care to usher audiences through the discomfort of what is unknown or unrecognizable.
