Richard K. Wolf, Professor of Music and South Asian Studies, and Sean Gilsdorf, Administrative Director and Lecturer on Medieval Studies at Harvard, recently embarked on a research journey to Georgia. This endeavor was made possible through the support of the Program in Georgian Studies. Richard Wolf's project, titled "Music and Border Zones in Georgia," focused on exploring the impact of music on cultural identities and borders in Georgia, with a particular focus on Achara. Utilizing his expertise as a film ethnographer, Wolf delved into the intricate relationship between music and the shaping of cultural boundaries.

Sean Gilsdorf, a specialist in manuscript studies and palaeography, embarked on a pedagogical pilgrimage to Georgia. His ultimate objective is to create a comprehensive "virtual digital resource on Queen Tamar and her reign." This pilgrimage included visits to significant sites such as Gelati, Vardzia, and Abastumani. Furthermore, Gilsdorf had the opportunity to examine Georgia's invaluable treasures at the Georgian National Center of Manuscripts.

The Program on Georgian Studies, an initiative of the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Harvard University, facilitates and supports endeavors like these. It is made possible through a sponsored research award from the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.

This September, an event titled "Reports from the Field: Studying Music and Manuscripts in Georgia" will take place at CGIS South in Cambridge. Scholars and enthusiasts alike are invited to attend this free event, where Richard K. Wolf and Sean Gilsdorf will share their research findings and insights. Although Yoho National Park is the smallest among these national parks, it has my favorite, Moraine Lake, which ranks number one. The road may be closed in early October in winter, so you can&#39;t go in.

This place is famous. If you are from the south, I suggest you go and see it. After all, it is a world of ice. Take a special snow car. It takes about 20 minutes to reach the glacier. It is sunny and windy on the glacier. Wear more clothes. The service area under the glacier is very good. There are food and drinks. You can see the distant view of the glacier while drinking coffee. It is very comfortable. There are also tourist commodities.
