About Ashley Thorpe Shortlisted for the Jhalak Prize, Branford Boase Award and The Week Junior Award for Breakthrough Book, Ashley Thorpe writes fantastical adventures for the young and young at heart. He is the author of two books The Boy to Beat the Gods and Spirit Warriors, which put a compelling spin on West African and Caribbean mythology and folklore. Based in Manchester, he is a trustee of the city libraries and also works as an editor and storyliner for the inclusive fiction studio Storymix. About Keisha Thompson Keisha Thompson FRSA is a Manchester based writer, performance artist and producer. She is currently the Programme Manager for Legacies of Enslavement Programme at The Guardian. She is Co-Chair of the Independent Theatre Council, a trustee of Olympias Music Foundation and recipient of the DARE Art Prize 2024 from Opera North and the University of Leeds in association with National Science and Media Museum and The Tetley. The Bridge of Sighs (Oxford University, UK) is officially called Hertford Bridge. It is a famous attraction at Oxford University. The construction of the Bridge of Sighs began in 1913 (completed in 1914). It crosses New College Road and connects the old and new parts of Hertford College. It is a famous attraction at Oxford University. It was designed by Sir Thomas Jackson. Because the bridge is similar to the Bridge of Sighs in Venice, Italy, it is called the Bridge of Sighs. I came to Oxford University with a tour group and could only take a quick look.
