Join us for a relaxing session of still life and observational drawing, suitable for all skill levels. We’ll set up engaging still life arrangements and provide tea, coffee, and a variety of drawing tools to spark your creativity. We'll begin by exploring a range of observational drawing exercises, from quick sketches to experimenting with ink, charcoal, framing techniques, and even masking tape. After a short break, we’ll settle into two longer drawing sessions, allowing you to use your preferred tools and techniques. Whether you’re new to drawing or looking to refine your skills, this class offers a welcoming space to develop your observational eye and drawing techniques. The tutor: Ruth ( she/ her) has 20+ years experience working as an artist and curator in the UK, the Netherlands, and the USA. She holds degrees in Visual Communication and Fine Arts and has a passion for teaching ceramics, drawing, and painting. The Venue: Creative Bloc is a new arts collective and creative studio in Glasgow North-West. 814 Garscube Road, G20 7ET.

First busses 60, 60A, 61 - Bluebird X10, X10A and West Coast Motors 17 all stop on Maryhill Road just 2 minutes walk away.
Kelvinbridge and St Georges Cross underground are approx 17mins walk.

There is on-street parking on Garscube Rd and a small visitors carpark at the back entrance, accessed via Firhill Rd.

We came here on a spontaneous visit one Sunday afternoon in January and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our wee boy loved seeing the &ldquo;old fashioned house&rdquo; and was so well looked after by all the staff, from the cash register to the flat and back out again.

We went round twice (with a shift change between visits!) and the insight into one story of no doubt thousands like it in Glasgow was fantastic. Plus our boy thoroughly enjoyed colouring in his wallie dug. A hidden gem that is well worth the wander through Garnethill.

It is a dream castle. When I arrived, it was the April holiday, there were almost no people on the road, only the old buildings stood in the cold air, solemn and heavy, which was awe-inspiring.

George Square

George Square is located in Glasgow city center and is very conveniently accessible by train or subway. On nice days, you can sunbathe and watch pigeons in the square. It is close to the famous shopping street, where you can buy souvenirs, clothes, shoes and socks. There are also many restaurants and eateries to choose from. 
George Square is a must-see attraction. In addition to admiring the architecture of the square;during different festivals, such as Christmas, the square is built into a Christmas Market, becoming a dynamic and happy atmosphere.
