We're excited to welcome Ralf Webb and Nathalie Olah to Review to discuss Ralf's new book Strange Relations... Strange Relations explores the American crisis in mid-century masculinity and the lives and works of four bisexual writers who fought to express and embody alternate possibilities. Building on Walt Whitman's philosophy of the love between men, it considers the ways in which Tennessee Williams and Carson McCullers, John Cheever and James Baldwin, resisted in their art, as well as in their relationships, the damaging expectations of contemporary gender and sexuality. Ralf Webb is a poet, writer and editor based in Bristol. His debut collection of poems, Rotten Days in Late Summer was published by Penguin in 2021, and was shortlisted for the Felix Dennis Prize for Best First Collection. Webb's poetry and critical writing has appeared in Granta, The Guardian, The London Review of Books, Fantastic Man, and The Poetry Review. He currently manages a creative writing mentorship programme in collaboration with Folio and First Story, which supports school-age writers from low-income backgrounds. Nathalie Olah is the author of Bad Taste (Dialogue 2023), Class (Tate Publishing 2021) and Steal As Much As You Can (2019). She contributes articles to The Guardian, Times Literary Supplement, Tribune and ArtReview. Tickets are £5 (redeemable against a copy of the book on the night) and there will be wine! 🏰 Westminster Abbey, it&#39;s really shocking! 📍 It&#39;s located in central London, close to the Parliament Building and Big Ben. The church is a prominent representation of British Gothic architecture, towering spires, exquisite carvings and beautifully painted glass windows, each detail shows an unparalleled artistic charm. Walking into the church, as if through time and space, is the holy place of the crowning of the British royal family, witnessing countless important moments in history. It is also a resting place for many celebrities, and great figures such as Newton, Darwin, Dickens have slept here, making people respect their contributions. Walking around, you can feel the solemnity of religion and the deep historical and cultural heritage. The church&#39;s Henry VII chapel is exquisite, with a fan-shaped arched roof and densely carved decorations, like a fairy tale fairyland. Whether it is an architecture lover or a historical and cultural fan, Westminster Abbey is definitely worth a visit. I believe you will be deeply impressed by its charm like me. 💕 highly recommend it to everyone! 💕
