For the new academic year, we're excited to introduce our Sunday Soul Sessions - a series of workshops for writers who want to delve deep into the big issues and reflect on what it means to be human in a changing world. This workshop will focus on writing about family. This will be a chance to explore and record family memories that you have always wanted to get down on the page. Family life has inspired so much great writing in all the genres, and many people describe wanting to write down their memories for future generations. This workshop will allow us the time and space to explore ourselves and the people we are close to. Whether you're writing memoir, essays, fiction or poetry or just want a to safe space to put some words on the page, this space is for you. About your facilitator Raquel Vogl is an American writer, musician, and teacher. She has taught English and writing for years in a variety of settings, such as the City University of New York and the Queens Library. Raquel loves helping people find their creative voice and facilitating their expression and writing. She has had work published in Storgy, The Sheffield Review, and the Donna Collective among other places. She is at work on a collection of short stories. In her musical life, she has released multiple records and toured the United States, and she continues to investigate the writing spectrum from song to the written word with her band Persona, recently releasing a record on the label Sonido Polifonico. Please note: Unfortunately, the Writers Workshop is not accessible for wheelchair users or those who cannot manage stairs. We apologise for any disappointment. Every year when snooker is played, the BBC will do a live show here. There is a table next to it, with two balls in each pocket. You are given a few shots to clear the table. If you clear the table, you will have the opportunity to compete with a famous snooker player.
