The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts opens an exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Picture Gallery, which today contains over three thousand works from the Middle Ages to the present day. The project will tell about an important stage in the history of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, when the Egyptian collection and the collection of casts were supplemented by paintings by Rembrandt, Frans Snyders, Guercino, Nicolas Poussin and other renowned masters. A small exhibition, equipped with explanatory text, documents and photographs, unfolds on the White Floor and tells about the initial period of the formation of the Picture Gallery and the main stages of its history. The exhibition, in essence, is the entire Picture Gallery of the museum, celebrating its 100th anniversary.
