Devon is hosting a captivating Sunday matinee performance of "Unnecessary Farce" by Paul Slade Smith, directed by Jennifer Phillips. Held at the Devon Community Centre, this event is a must-see for theater enthusiasts in the area. The show will take place on April 14, 2024, and tickets are available for $59.91. 

"Unnecessary Farce" is a comedic play that follows the story of two undercover cops, three crooks, and a series of hilarious misunderstandings. Set in a cheap motel room, the plot unfolds as an embezzling mayor plans to meet with his female accountant, while the cops wait to capture the meeting on video. However, confusion ensues as the characters find themselves in the wrong rooms, leading to a hilarious chain of events.

Along with the fantastic performance, attendees will also be treated to a delectable brunch buffet catered by Bob Ronnie Catering. The menu includes a variety of options such as turkey, ham, salmon, meatballs, devilled eggs, and more. Gluten-free options are available as well.

Tickets can be transferred to another individual, but they are non-refundable. It is not necessary to bring a printed ticket to the event, as there will be a list of attendees at the venue. Doors will open at 11:30am, with the meal being served from noon to 12:45pm. The show will start promptly at 1pm and is expected to end around 3:30pm, with a 20-minute intermission. A cash bar will be available, offering a variety of drinks at reasonable prices. All bartenders are ProServe qualified.

Supporting East of 60 can also be done by purchasing 50/50 tickets during the event. The venue is wheelchair accessible, and any issues during the event can be addressed by speaking with a volunteer who will direct you to the Front of House Manager.
