The Iron Bridge is the first iron bridge on the River Severn. Due to the limited metallurgical technology at the time, the entire bridge was made of gray cast iron. There was no steelmaking technology at the time, and gray cast iron was relatively brittle, so now the bridge is only used for viewing. At present, vehicles are prohibited from passing on the bridge, but pedestrians can pass through, which is worth a visit.
