Anhui Grand Theater is one of the landmark buildings in Hefei. It is located in the center of the old city, diagonally opposite the bell tower.

Basic Overview

&bull; Geographical location: located in the southeast corner of the intersection of Huizhou Avenue and Wuhu Road in Hefei.

&bull; Historical evolution: designed in 1981, completed at the end of 1985, put into use on New Year&#39;s Day 1986, fully renovated and renamed &quot;Anhui Grand Theater&quot; in 2001, and completed the mechanical stage upgrade in 2010.

&bull; Building scale: covers an area of ​​16,500 square meters, with a total construction area of ​​15,000 square meters. The auditorium has 1,631 seats, including 961 seats downstairs, 608 seats upstairs, and 62 seats in the boxes on both sides.

Function and Use

&bull; Performance function: For many years, it has been responsible for important meetings and all major celebrations of the Anhui Provincial Party Committee, Provincial Government, Provincial People&#39;s Congress, and Provincial Political Consultative Conference. It is also a place for famous literary and artistic groups and artists at home and abroad to perform on stage. For example, on February 23, 2023, the first large-scale industrial drama in Anhui Province, &quot;Fire Illuminating the World&quot;, premiered here.

&bull; Meeting function: The conference room is located on the second floor of the VIP building on the west side of the theater. It can accommodate 100 people and can hold small meetings or press conferences.

&bull; Training function: Anhui Grand Theater Art Training Center was established in 1996. It is one of the earliest institutions in Hefei that specializes in art education and training. It was my first night tour of the ancient town, and it was a fantastic experience. I booked my boat tickets in advance on Ctrip, so I arrived at the departure pier at night and lined up to check my ticket before boarding. It was very convenient. The boat wasn&#39;t large, only seating about ten people at a time. The waterways of Sanhe Ancient Town are illuminated by blue or yellow strips of light on both sides. The first arch bridge the boat passed was bathed in a water curtain, and the sight of dancing butterflies was truly captivating. Once under the bridge, the curtain naturally stopped, preventing visitors from getting wet. We then encountered musical fountains in the river, and a section of the road was lined with twinkling night lights reminiscent of fireflies. We then passed several more arch bridges, each featuring a vivid display of dancing peacocks and the Cowherd and Weaver Girl meeting on the Magpie Bridge. Each water curtain was vibrant, with perfectly balanced colors. The boat trip was truly a journey of tranquility, allowing us to experience the charm of this water town and its rich heritage. It was a truly worthwhile experience!

The new Anhui Museum boasts a rich collection of treasures. With the guidance of Liu Ruya, a professor at Dasheng, we learned about everything from the Four Treasures of the Study in Huizhou to ancient buildings and bronze vessels. The lecture was very detailed, engaging, and lively. Over two hours, we were filled with valuable information. It was a fantastic experience!

The Bao Park has a good environment, good greening, suitable for walking and relaxing, especially in the evening. Bao Gong Temple and Qingfeng Pavilion are a bit historical, but there are not many exhibits, just take a look at the flowers. The hair dryer by the lake is very cool, and you can see many locals exercising and walking their babies here. Tickets are free, which is very conscience, but there are some small attractions charged separately, and it feels like there is no need to spend money to go in. Overall, it is a citizen park. It is okay to go shopping on the way. It may feel a bit flat to punch in.

We went there by speedboat 🚤. The island isn&#39;t big, and a full circumnavigation takes about 2-3 hours. The scenery is beautiful, but for some reason, spiders are everywhere 🕷, with spider webs everywhere 🕸.
