At No. 3 Hufangqiao Road, Xicheng District, Beijing, there is a building with a long history and profound cultural heritage-Huguang Guild Hall. It was built in 1807. As a national key cultural relic protection unit, it is like a silent old man, quietly telling stories of the past, attracting countless people to explore its charm.

The history of Huguang Guild Hall can be traced back to the Ming Dynasty. The original site was the former residence of Yan Song and the residence of Zhang Juzheng, and was later converted into the Quanchu Guild Hall. After years of changes and many repairs, it finally formed its current scale and carried rich historical memories. Mr. Sun Yat-sen visited here five times, and in 1912 he presided over the founding meeting of the Kuomintang here, witnessing an important moment in China&#39;s modern history; when the Eight-Power Allied Forces entered Beijing, this place was used as the headquarters of the US admiral, witnessing that period of vicissitudes.

When you step into the Huguang Guild Hall, the first thing that catches your eye is its simple and elegant architectural style. The entire building complex covers an area of ​​4,305 square meters and consists of the Xiangxian Temple, the Grand Theater, the Wenchang Pavilion, the Baoshan Hall, etc. The courtyard is lush with bamboo, trees, flowers and plants, and the rockery is exquisitely piled up, dotted with Taihu stones, full of the charm of Chinese gardens. The Xiangxian Temple is solemn and dignified. It once enshrined the &quot;God of All Chu Sages&quot;. Although it has been lost, it still makes people feel the respect and remembrance of the sages by later generations; Wenchang Pavilion carries the dreams of students. The Grand Theater is the core building of the Huguang Guild Hall and is known as one of the top ten wooden theaters in the world. This two-volume double-eaved hanging mountain-style two-story pavilion is gorgeous with carved beams and painted buildings. The stage curtain is embroidered with auspicious patterns such as colorful dragons and phoenixes playing with beads. Above the stage, the plaque &quot;Nichang Tongyong&quot; is black and golden, shining. The long couplet hanging on the pillars, &quot;Wei Que Gong Chao Zong has a magnificent atmosphere, just like the dream of Dongting Yunmeng; Kangqu and the dance palace business are still snowy and spring&quot;, is magnificent and rich in cultural connotations. This place was once the stage for famous Peking Opera artists. Tan Xinpei, Mei Lanfang, Cheng Yanqiu and others have performed here. Their wonderful performances have left countless stories for Huguang Guild Hall, and also allowed Peking Opera culture to take root and flourish here.

Today, Huguang Guild Hall is not only a historical relic, but also an important carrier of cultural inheritance. The China Opera Museum is located in it. Through opera documents, cultural relics, pictures and audio-visual materials, it fully displays the development history of Beijing opera, mainly Peking Opera art. The collection of Peking Opera masters&#39; apprenticeship pictures and performance costumes in the museum are all precious historical witnesses.
